Scholarships for International Students in the UK

Students may be eligible to apply for scholarships to help fund their studies. For some students, scholarships provide the necessary funding support to enable them to study. Because scholarships are limited in number, the application process can be highly competitive.

We can provide guidance to help you apply for scholarships for international students in the UK, offering professional expertise to help your application stand out against the competition – to increase your chances of securing funding.

UKEC have strong partnerships with universities, enabling us to access scholarships not available to students directly, including for postgraduate courses. This means we are also able to help graduates apply for specialist PhD scholarships for international students in the UK.

Enrolment Periods

In the UK, the academic year typically runs from September to July, and most UK university courses follow this system. This means that the majority of higher education courses in the UK begin in September or October, with three terms (semesters) running until the summer, with term breaks for the Christmas and Easter holidays.

Some universities have additional intakes in January and May. These intakes are traditionally smaller than the traditional September intake, with fewer courses and spaces available. UKEC are here to help you find the right course at the right university.

Each university will have its own application process for international students, and you should be prepared to apply as far as a year in advance of your course start date – particularly if you’re looking to apply for highly competitive scholarships for international students in the UK.
