The length of your visa will depend on your course. For degree-level studies, you should be able to live in the UK for up to 5 years. For anything below degree-level, you should be able to stay for up to 2 years in the UK.

If you want to travel to Europe to study while living in the UK and intend to stay for a maximum of 3 months, you may need to apply for a Schengen visa for international students in the UK, depending on your nationality.

To apply for a Schengen visa for international students in the UK, you will need to have 3 months remaining on your international student tier 4 visa from the day you are planning to leave the Schengen area to return to the UK.
