UKEC Taiwan was honoured to welcome May and Kenneth from LeedsMayi, one of Taiwan’s leading IELTS centres, to our office for an engaging and insightful session. Their visit offered students valuable guidance on one of the most important steps in the UK university application journey: preparing for the IELTS exam.

Addressing Students’ Top Challenges

For many international students, knowing when and how to begin IELTS preparation, planning the right time to take the test, and understanding the types of questions to expect are among the biggest challenges when applying to universities. During the session, May and Kenneth shared practical strategies on building a clear preparation timeline and explained how effective planning can strengthen a student’s overall application. They also highlighted examples of popular questions that often appear in the IELTS test, giving students a clearer sense of what to expect.
