About Anglia Ruskin University

Anglia Ruskin University is an ambitious and global university. Students from 185 countries and regions around the world come to study with us. We have a very dynamic and culturally inclusive international student community on campus.

Our staff in faculties, student support departments and student union offer excellent teaching and supports to our international students in teaching and learning, placements, career advice, visa advice, residence service, club and societies, etc. We offer free in-sessional English language and study skills lessons to our international students.

Anglia Ruskin University is one of the largest modern universities in the east of England, with four faculties and six research institutes. Our root dates back to 1858 when the art critic John Ruskin opened the Cambridge School of Art which is part of our Cambridge campus now. As well as Cambridge, we have campuses in Chelmsford, London and Peterborough, where our newest campus ARU Peterborough will open its doors in September 2022.

2016-2022 have seen Anglia Ruskin University listed consecutively in the Times Higher Education’s (THE) World University Rankings – being named as one of the top 350 institutions in the world and top 40 best in the UK. The rankings are the only global university performance table to judge world-class universities across all their core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

Our early expertise in the arts and education has broadened, and today we offer courses in computing and technology, engineering, law, business, economics, life sciences and more. We’ve been a leader in the field of health and social care since 1992, with the most recent major development as our School of Medicine opened in September 2018.
