What their Students Say

There is an old saying: ‘There’s no place like home.’ But in the UK, I found my second home, Leeds Beckett University.

I was surprised by the friendliness of the locals. They are always willing to help you, especially while you are an international student. So are the staff and tutors at Leeds Beckett University. You can ask anyone for help.

Additionally, one of the best decisions in my life is joining Global Village. Before I came to the university, I had never thought I could make friends from all over the world. Now I have friends from England, China, India, Mexico, etc. We met at the events organised by Global Village and the university. They were fun and very creative. I even became a model in the Fashion Showcase event and had a catwalk in a traditional Vietnamese costume. In the night, we ate, sang and danced to diverse music in the background. It was such a blast.

I enjoy my time here and really don’t want my student life to stop.

The city life is amazing, and it is always busy with students roaming around town and the choice of shops and restaurants to choose from is incredible. The feeling that I got from visiting the university was that it wasn’t just an educational institution to study at, it was a home away from home. Coming to Leeds Beckett as an international student was nerve-wracking at first, moving away from my home and my family was hard but Beckett welcomed me with open arms, and I felt so comfortable and over the moon with the fact that Beckett was going to be my home for the duration of my studies.

One thing I enjoy about my course is that it is something different and interesting to study, it keeps you on your toes and keeps you wanting to learn and that it is something different to study. Beckett has allowed me to come out of my shell and expand and grow as an individual, as well as find friends and form relationships that will grow. Beckett is a community like no other and a journey that I will remember forever.
