About Manchester Metropolitan University

Manchester Metropolitan University is home to a diverse community of international students from over 100 countries.

International students are supported throughout their journey to Manchester Met by the University’s knowledgeable and friendly International Office. The team are there to help with queries that students have prior to leaving their home countries.

Manchester Met aims to mould students into highly employable individuals. The University provides its students with regular employability events, including advice workshops, networking opportunities, guest speakers and careers fairs.

The University also provides support to students once they join, such as free English language classes and help from Academic and Study Skills Tutors.

The Manchester Met Student Union is home to the International Student Group. It is the perfect place to meet new people, immerse yourself in the British culture and have fun while doing so. The Group organises events, trips and campaigns that resonate with the international student experience. The group is led by the International Council, which is composed of international student representatives from every faculty whose role is to represent the international student voice.

Based in the centre of Manchester – named the UK’s best city to live in (Global Liveability Survey 2021 by the Economist Intelligence Unit), the University campus is conveniently located close to the city’s many world-renowned music, sports and cultural venues, as well as the second-largest Chinatown in Britain.

Manchester Met offers a range of courses at foundation, bachelor, master and research level across 4 faculties:

Business and Law
Science and Engineering
Arts and Humanities
Health and Education

The University is undergoing a £400m investment programme to enhance its teaching and research facilities, buildings and public spaces. This includes the opening of Institute of Sport and School of Digital Arts (SODA) as well as future development of a new Science and Engineering building (due to open 2023).

The University also provides a range of scholarships exclusive to international students, up to the value of £3,000 (2022 entry).
