About University of East Anglia

Founded in 1963, The University of East Anglia (UEA) is a campus-based university located in the beautiful city of Norwich.

The campus is like a mini city - it's big enough to find your niche but small enough to call home.

From iconic architecture to unspoilt parkland, UEA's campus is a diverse and inspiring place to study, with amazing on-campus facilities and just two miles from the vibrant city centre of Norwich.

UEA has a student population of over 16,000 with more than 3,500 International and EU students joining us from over 120 countries. UEA is a highly ranked university having been ranked in the World Top 200 in the Times Higher Education University Rankings in 2022 and each of the last 10 years. UEA is ranked in the top 30 of The Times/Sunday Times and Complete University Guide 2022 rankings.

UEA’s research is making real-world impact. That’s why 91 per cent of UEA research has been rated ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ by the Research Excellence Framework (REF2021). UEA is also in the UK top 20 for research quality.

What their Students Say

“I chose UEA because it is well-known for having a great curriculum for climate change and international development. In terms of my course, it provides a wide range of modules, including modules in environmental science.

Also, there are plenty of networking opportunities with practitioners who are active in international development. Before starting my master’s at UEA, I did the International Graduate Diploma course at INTO UEA. I find it helpful for me to understand the British education system.

The content I learned was also useful for the modules I’ve taken at UEA.

As for extra curriculum activities, the student union provide a variety of activities and services, including a whole range of societies and clubs. Even if you’re not part of the societies, you can try out some new activities you’ve never done before through Do Something Different.

My favourite activity so far is a dog therapy session that you can just pet and spend time with a dog!”

“Not long after I came to UK, I quickly fell in love with UEA. All my fears and worries about studying abroad disappeared. I won’t feel lonely here because it’s easy to make friends from all over the world.

There all kind of interesting events organized by various clubs or societies, and you can participate as much as you want. What attracts me most about UEA is the beautiful scenery.

I always walk along the lake and enjoy the sunset with my friends on campus. The longer you stay in Norwich, the more you can feel its charm. This medium sized city in the east of England is safe and friendly, with a strong cultural heritage and close to the sea.

The reason I chose to study MSc Finance and Management at UEA is that Norwich Business School has a strong reputation in the world. It provides us with many resources and opportunities.

Every semester has an employment week, you’ll have the opportunity to choose the company you are interested in and submit your CV or talk to them face to face.”
