Edinburgh is an international university which is truly open to the world. Our international reputation and the diversity of our campus is something we’re really proud of.

We currently have a student body of over 45,000. In the last ten years, we’ve taught students from over 160 countries. That makes us Scotland’s largest university, and one of the largest in the UK.

 

The University of Edinburgh was founded in 1583 and is one of the six ancient Universities in the UK.  We have over 45,000 students studying here making us one of the largest institutions in the country and we are a truly international University with around 45% of our student population coming from outside of the UK, and more that 160 nationalities represented on our campuses.
