Gloucestershire is a great place to be a student. The University is within easy reach of many major towns, cities and airports. We’re an hour from Birmingham and two hours from London.

Our welcoming and supportive campus environment allows you to get fully involved in university life. There are over 80 societies and sports clubs, a weekly Global Café with activities for international students, plus one of the safest nights out in the country. Make new friends and get involved from day one.

There are Helpzones on every campus, with designated advisors to help you with any aspect of student life. You can make an appointment or just drop by if you need support on any aspect of university life.

Home to over 12,000 students, our inclusive community welcomes students from over 80 countries worldwide. We have three high-tech and vibrant campuses located across Cheltenham and Gloucester in the South West of England – all within easy reach of major cities to explore the UK.

With a history of teaching dating back to 1847, you’ll benefit from expert lecturers and a network of industry contacts. We’ve been awarded 14 National Teaching Fellowships and have a strong portfolio of lecturers with industry experience. From our £18m Business School and architecture studios, to our new £1.3m Biomedical labs and industry-standard Media Centre – you’ll have access to the very best facilities. 93% of our international students are satisfied with their learning experience (ISB, 2021).

We know that employability matters. We’re ranked 2nd globally for employability and careers support (ISB, 2021) and our students complete over 4,000 placements each year with global, national and regional employers. Our Your Future Plan team support students to gain knowledge and experience of how to secure jobs and placements in the UK.

English language support and a range of 50% scholarships and International Grant Awards are available for international students.

We offer guaranteed halls of residence, private housing or lodgings to students who apply by the deadline, and we are here to help you chose a home to suit your needs.

What their Students Say

“This course aligns to what I have done in my job. It has a specialisation in sports leadership and governance, which I’m currently pursuing, and it is giving me all the exposure of what I really want to accomplish in the future. This was the only university that offered specialisation like this.”

“Being awarded an international scholarship meant that I began my international journey on a positive note! I’m having an incredible time at the University of Gloucestershire, with exciting social events and career events to support my future profession.”

“I’m from Delhi, which is a very busy place, like London and Birmingham. I surprisingly liked Gloucestershire, which is quieter and slower than these places. It has less people, but still has student nights and I have been experiencing a lot of new things.”

Sanskriti Chhabra
India, MBA Global Business Administration

“I would not have been able to pursue this masters course which is like a dream, without the University of Gloucestershire. I was granted an international scholarship. That really helped me. In my application, I spoke about how I’ve had to overcome all the challenges and dealing with clients and topics I knew nothing about.”

“The facilities are amazing; the level of equipment is crazy. The number of computers on campus is incredible. I love the teaching style. We do real projects with real life data. For example, we use real data from the government, and we are applying it to solve real problems. I love that we are being assessed like that, and not writing a test on a paper.”

“What I like is the Your Future Plan team because placement and finding job prospects are super important to me. Every other week or every other day they send  placement opportunities highlighting prospective employers.”

“I’ve made friends with everybody. In Cheltenham it is chilled and feels very safe. It’s a lovely place. I’ve also been to Gloucester which is quite diverse. Everyone is so friendly. I love going to the gym and there are some lovely parks.”
