About The University of Buckingham

Home of the two-year degree, The University of Buckingham is based in the South East of England. We are proudly independent and not-for-profit, and offer courses in a variety of different subject areas.

We are one of the few universities in the UK that offer September and January start dates for almost all of our courses.

Based in Buckingham on a riverside campus, situated in between Oxford and Cambridge. By bus, we are approximately 20 minutes away from Milton Keynes central station and a short drive from Bicester, Aylesbury, Banbury and Northampton. Central London can be reached within two hours by train. There is free parking on-site.

We also have a Crewe campus, based in the North of England.

Our award-winning small class tutorials ensure every student is known by name and supported throughout their studies, including by dedicated personal tutors.

As pioneers of the two-year degree, we offer a condensed version of the traditional three-year degree, meaning you can gain a full honours degree and complete your studies a whole year earlier. Alternatively, you can complete both your undergraduate and master’s degree with us in just three years: saving you time and money.

We also launched the UK’s first private Medical School, which recently secured General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation. The GMC commended us for our ‘excellent professional, academic and pastoral support that extends throughout the University and clinical learning environments’.

The University’s dedication to teaching quality and student life has resulted in it being rated highly by its students and in national surveys. We are proud that the Good University Guide 2023 ranked us top 10 in the UK for Student Satisfaction. Nothing is more important to us than happy students

What their Students Say

“Studying at Buckingham is everything I expected and more. The medicine course is very well planned with more than enough support throughout your course.

The calm, cosy and welcoming environment made making friends and settling in much better. I couldn’t ask for a better place to start my medical career.”

Alphonsine
Medicine student

“The small tutorial groups were important to me to get the most out of the teaching process. I enjoyed every second of it. The teaching style and lecturers’ support helped me to obtain First Class Honours at the end of my studies.”
